This project is coordinated by Wildlife Conservation Society Canada’s Alberta Community Bat Program.

For bat conservation inquiries, we can be reached by:

Email: info@albertabats.ca

We will try to respond to emails within 2 business days, but it may take up to 5 days, or more, during busy periods. If you do not receive a reply after 5 days, then please try again.

If a person was bitten or scratched by a bat (or you cannot rule out this possibility), call the Alberta rabies hotline (1-844-427-6847) or Health Link (8-1-1) for assessment (do this soon after exposure)

For bites to pets, contact your veterinarian. For injured bats needing immediate assistance, contact a wildlife rehabilitation centre

If you require assistance with bat exclusions or removing bats in living spaces, you may be able to contact a wildlife control company (or similar) that is qualified to conduct the services you require.

We do not provide bat removal or exclusion services, but we may be able to help you better understand your situation and how you can avoid harm to bats on your property.
